Organisations

The two organisations chosen for the research assignment will be Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and WWF (World Wildlife Fund). Both organisations look towards the protection and conservation of animals and their habitats across the globe, yet they differ in their approach. Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is a vigilant and more coercive organisation that believes in direct action or confrontation with the problem at hand.

WWF on the other hand favours more diplomatic and negotiative approach. Although they do often engage in activities that are directly related and executed at the heart of the problem, they are more well recognised for their petitions, proposals and negotiations with governments to set laws that protect animals and their habitats. It will be interesting to note how two different approaches can be taken to pursue a similar outcome, namely the preservation of animals, although some would argue the effectiveness of each approach.
