WSPA organisation

The new chosen organisation for the project is WSPA (World  Society for the Protection of Animals). WSPA is a nonprofit organisation that seeks to create a world where animal cruelty ends. It is the world’s leading international alliance of animal welfare organisations with some 880 member societies in 147 countries and representing 70% of the worlds nations. It carries a consultative status in both the United Nations and the European Council and is backed by some 400,000 individual supporters.

WSPA uses negotiation, petitions and rallies to persuade governments to act to develop laws against animal cruelty and are currently working on a universal animals rights document to present to the United Nations in order to make it international law. WSPA also funds projects from other associated member nations to further help animals from their plight. over the years they have been tackling bear bile farming, whaling, bullfighting, Canadian seal hunt, animal trafficking and poaching, transportation of animals and animal farms with unhealthy practices. These are just some of the issues that WSPA have been confronting with some good results. they have become true supporters of wildlife.
